Former Armagh manager Paul Grimley will be one of a high profile panel of current and former G.A.A managers who will take part in a debate night at the Clann Eireann Club on Friday March 31st, beginning at 8 30 pm.
With the event coming close to the start of the new club league season, local sports writer Eugene Creaney who is organizing the “ask the managers” night stressed that a lot of big issues will be raised , he said “this debate while highlighting Inter County issues like changes to the All Ireland series, will also concentrate on recent developments at club level like the emergence of the newly formed Club Players Association, several top names will be giving their views on the big questions such as, can Crossmaglen win back their title?, or indeed can Maghery retain it? Eugene continued “any funds raised on the night will go directly to the Shankill Community Group based at Mount Zion House which is the centre for a lot of local charities, and the fact that the Clann Eireann club have made their premises available is much appreciated”.
Further details on other participants will be made available shortly. Paul Grimley said “there is no problem with me answering all the relevant questions, the fact that I am out of management maybe gives me a chance to take a different look at things, I am looking forward to being involved” stressed the former Armagh boss, although admission to the “Ask The Managers” debate is free, any donations to Mount Zion House will be welcomed.
