Armagh celebrate two Scór na nÓg titles

Oíche stairiúil d’Ard Mhacha a bhí ann ar an Satharn seo caite nuair a thóg CLG Naomh Pádraig Coilleach Eanach agus CLG Chláirsigh Bhéal Átha an Airgid Craobh Scór na nÓg na hÉireann abhaile leo ó Chill Áirne. Bhain Béal Átha an Airgid an comórtas rince foirne, in ainneoin na géar-iomaíochta ar an lá leis an chéad bhua d’Ard Mhacha a chinntiú. Tá Coilleach Eanach sa reicneáil do Chraobh na hÉireann le cúpla bliain anuas agus tá tacaíocht mhór bainte acu chan amháin in Ard Mhacha ach ar fud na tíre. Cé go raibh an mí-ádh leo anuraidh lena léiriú On a single day fán Ghorta Mór, chuaigh léiriú na bliana Dancing Queen go mór i bhfeidhm ar na moltóirí in Ard Mhacha, in Uladh agus i gCraobh na hÉireann agus fuair na h-aisteoirí ógaan t-aitheantas a bhí tuillte acu as a ndíograid agus as an obair chrua le blianta beaga anuas.

Last Saturday evening proved to be an historic night for Armagh, and particularly for St Patrick’s Cullyhanna and Silverbridge Harps, as the county claimed two All-Ireland Scór na nÓg titles in Killarney. Silverbridge céilí dancers celebrated the first of the Armagh victories when they beat off stiff competition to claim the club’s second All-Ireland Scór na nÓg title, the first of which was in solo singing in 2009. Congratulations to Aoife Lavelle, Caitlin Murphy, Laura Donnelly, Ryan McKeown, Shea Bradley, Líath McCreesh, Dearbhla Grant and Alannah Grant. Cullyhanna have been knocking on the door of All-Ireland success for a number of years now and have won huge support not just in Armagh, but right across the country. While they may have been extremely unlucky to miss out with the super On a single day drama last year about the famine, this year’s act Dancing Queen impressed the judges in Armagh, Ulster and the All-Ireland to reward the young group of actors for their dedication and hard work over the last number of years and bring a first All-Ireland Scór na nÓg title to Cullyhanna. Congratulations to Mary Donnelly, Oran Murray, Karen Quinn, Caoimhe McParland, Erin O’Reilly and Eimear Rushe, as well as to all of their mentors.
