Céilí dancers crowned All Ireland Champions

St Killian’s GAC, Whitecross Céilí dancers crowned All Ireland Champions

Armagh was well represented at Saturday’s All Ireland Scór na nÓg final in the Waterfront, Belfast.

Three clubs competed for All Ireland success including Whitecross céilí dancers, Cullyhanna léiriú act and Silverbridge quiz team.

Silverbridge quiz team competed against 27 other counties but it wasn’t to be on the day.

Cullyhanna who are no strangers to All Ireland success were hoping to retain their title. They performed ‘Auntie B’s Toy Shop’ and narrowly missed out to St Dominic’s from Roscommon.

The young céilí dancers from St. Killian’s, Whitecross have proudly represented their club and county four times in the past five years.  After a superb performance they were crowned All Ireland Champions and have retained the title in Ard Mhacha following Silverbridge’s success last year.

The céilí dancers were recognised by Armagh County Board during half time at the Armagh v Laois league game on Sunday 12 February. They were invited as special guests and were given a warm reception by all those in the Athletic Grounds.

Congratulations to the Céilí Dancing team, Sarah Gahan,
Cailíosa Ní Dhúill, Ciara Mc Cann, Síofra McGuinness, Fainche Quinn, Orlagh McKenna, Laura mckevitt and Amy O’Callaghan.
