Armagh GAA is gearing up to host its annual golf classic tournament on Friday 7 August. The Armagh GAA Golf Classic, which is sponsored by J.G. McNicholl Insurance and Investment Consultants from the Moy, will take place at the scenic County Armagh Golf Club in Armagh city for the second year running. The 6200-yard course, with its par of 70, provides a challenging test of skill for all and proved a big hit with the golfers last year. There will be plenty of prizes on offer, thanks to the kind sponsorship from Tullyherron Farm Feeds and Complete Living Solutions.
The Armagh golf classic is now in its 17th year and continues to attract a range of GAA members and supporters from clubs across the county and further afield, with many current and former county stars taking part. Entry for a team of four costs £200 and this price includes a meal after the round of golf in the Green Room restaurant back at the clubhouse. You can enter a team by contacting Brendan Smyth on 07774631642. Armagh GAA is also offering a range of sponsorship options for the golf classic, with hole sponsorship available for £100 and tee box or green sponsorship for just £50.
The Armagh GAA Golf Classic was recently launched by Armagh senior footballer Charlie Vernon and senior hurler Connor Devlin, alongside county chairperson Paul McArdle. All three are keen golfers and are looking forward to the golf classic on Friday 7 August. Speaking at the launch, Paul McArdle thanked James McNicholl for his continued support for the event and all of the sponsors and the golfers who return year after year. He also paid tribute to Brendan Smyth and the organising committee for all of the work in the lead-up to the event and encouraged Armagh supporters to come along and take part in this year’s Armagh GAA Golf Classic.
