Armagh honour Dearbhaill’s Olympic Achievements.
Armagh County Board are planning a special ceremony for Dearbhaill Savage from Clady the winner of 2 gold & 1 silver medal at the recent Special Olympics in Los Angeles. Dearbhaill created history by becoming the youngest ever Athlete to participate & win 3 medals in this worldwide event. A fantastic achievement for herself & her coaches & a very proud moment for her Parents, family & friends in Clady GAA & throughout the GAA world.
Dearbhaill whose Dad Michael is Chairman of Armagh GAA’s CCC committee comes from a great GAA family, her Grandfather Vincent is also a former Player, Referee & Volunteer with the Association & indeed all of the Family connection are very much involved in the promotion of the GAA within their club & County.
Dearbhaill’s achievements at the Special Olympics hit the headlines all over the world so it is only right & proper that people at home should have the opportunity to give her a very big welcome  to the Athletic Grounds this Friday evening.
Members of Dearbhaill’s family & her many friends from the Sporting World along with her School Friends have been invited to the event which will take place between the the 2 Championship games in the Athletic Grounds. The first game is between St Peter’s & An Port Mor which starts at 6.45 followed by Maghery v Pearse Ogs with throw in timed for 8.30pm.
This is sure to be another proud evening for Dearbhaill Savage & all her Family as all of her fellow Gaels have the chance to acknowledge her great success.
