Stefan Campbell scored a dramatic late winner for Armagh to earn our first points of the League campaign.
Having ran into an early lead with points from McKenna, Watters and 1-2 from Campbell, things where going well for the Orchard County. However, following injuries to Murnin and O’Hanlon plus a black card for Tony Kernan, Armagh lost their shape in the final 20 minutes of the half to allow Fermanagh to claw their way back into the game, leaving the half time scoreline of Armagh 1-05 to Fermanagh’s 0-06.
It was Fermanagh who started brightly in the 2nd half and mid way through the half took the lead for the first time. At this point both teams were trading scores and many predicted a draw was on the cards. Corrigan’s brilliantly struck free kick in the 3rd minute of injury time looked to have earned the draw for the Erne County however an outstanding score by Stefan Campbell at the very end earned Armagh the points and sent the Orchard followers home delighted with the result.
Next up for Armagh is an away trip to Cavan next Saturday evening where back to back victories will go along way in securing Division 2 status this year.
