Although Forkhill had a 6 point advantage at the end, this was a game that ebbed and flowed from the off. Forkhill got out of the blocks the fastest scoring a goal inside the first 10 seconds and added a further 3 points before the Clanns got on the scoreboard. However this was a sustained period of pressure by the Francis Street men and clawed the game back level only for Forkhill to register the last 2 scores of the half to go in with a lead at half time.
The second half was just as tight for long periods and Clan na Gael will look at the missed free kicks as the losing of the game during the periods were they dominated play. Forkhill looked hungry throughout the game and their clinical play in front of the posts allowed them to pull away in the last 5 minutes to progress to the TMET Semi-Final were they will now take on another Lurgan club St Pauls.
