Oisin McConville

Oisin McConville’s goal in the 2002 All-Ireland final was crucial in helping the Orchard County get their hands on the Sam Maguire Cup for the first time in their history. The current Wicklow manager picked up two All-Star awards during his playing days and was also named Man of the Match in the 2002 final.

Paul McGrane

The last Armagh captain to get his hands on the Anglo Celt, McGrane was one of the best midfielders of his generation. The Ballyhegan man set up McConville’s game-winning goal in the 2002 All-Ireland final and deservingly picked up an All-Star award for his performances that season as well.

Benny Tierney

Benny Tierney retired after achieving the ultimate goal of collecting the Sam Maguire Cup in 2002 and he had a massive influence in helping Armagh over the line. Tierney suffered a lot of dark days as well but finished his career with the prized possession of a Celtic Cross and three Ulster titles.

Kevin Walsh

Walsh was a three-time All-Star winner during his playing days in the maroon and white and more importantly, helped the Tribesmen capture All-Ireland glory in 1998 and 2001, their most recent All-Ireland success. More recently, he spent a period as Galway manager and is currently involved with the Cork management team.

Sean Og De Paor

Like Walsh, Sean Og De Paor was involved in the two most recent Galway teams to get their hands on the Sam Maguire trophy in 1998 and 2001. The roaming wing half back picked up All-Star awards for his displays in both those seasons and also won six Connacht titles during his time in maroon and white.
