Armagh Senior Hurling manager steps down

Armagh County Board have been notified by Armagh Senior Hurling manager Sylvester McConnell that he has stepped down from his position as senior county manager.

Armagh County Board would like to sincerely thank Sylvester and his backroom team including John Crossey, Gabriel O’Kane, Kiernan Nugent and James Doyle for all their efforts, dedication and commitment.

Under Sylvester Armagh gained some very significant achievements, most notably the NHL Div 2B final win over Down in Dowdalshill last year, when Armagh gained promotion to Division 2A of the National Hurling League.

In addition, Sylvester led Armagh to three consecutive Nicky Rackard Finals and two Ulster Senior Hurling Finals during a period of sustained hurling development.

We would like to wish Sylvester every success in his future endeavours.
